St. James' is a faithful, joyful and prayerful community. We pray that wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you may find God's presence here. Our website is designed to introduce you to us and to help you understand who we are as a community.

Community Life

It has been said that the Christian life cannot be lived in isolation. The Christian life is one lived in community. We believe, of course, that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The real reason we are in community is that we are all members of the body of Christ, that is, Christ's presence and work in the world. At St. James', we possess the two essential elements of community: a sense of belonging, developed through relationships one with another, and a common goal and witness.

Where we come from

As Episcopalians, we are followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and believe in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We strive to love our neighbors as ourselves and respect the dignity of every person. The Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and traces its heritage to the beginnings of Christianity. Lay people exercise a vital role in the governance and ministry of our Church. We celebrate our unity in Christ while honoring our differences, always putting the work of love before uniformity of opinion. All are welcome to find a spiritual home in the Episcopal Church.
